I don't know your electrolux model vaccume, but most have retractable cords, and should be replaced with the same item.
Unless you know something about electricity, I would leave it for an Electrolux Repair-person.
If you think you can do it! Listen-up;
Remove the screws under the body of the vaccume and possible end cap. (OF COURSE-HAVE THE UNIT UNPLUGGED!)
The wires may be attached by screws or may be soldered. If they're soldered...you will have to replace the new wire by soldering the connections back on. Note which side the "black & white" wires were attached.
The replacement wire has to be the same "guage" wire...in other words, the copper wires, inside, have to be the same thickness or it may cause damage, injury or fire.
Reattach the new wire, the black wire where the old black wire was and the same with the white.
re-attach the screws and test you work.
If this sound like too much...don't be shy to bring it to a qualified repair shop.
