How can I repair my maytag washer? ?

during the spin cycle about half of the time the drum will not spin, but the motor and belt spin properly. Is there a clutch between the bottom pulley and the shaft to the drum? And if so is it profitible to change out or should we scrap it?

Yes there is a clutch for the spin. Only you know how much a replacement washing machine will cost & the overall condition of the one you have now and how much you have spent on it in the past.
