Mend Maytag Neptune Start Washer

the "pull to start" knob has broke on maytag neptune washer?

When I pulled the start knob on my maytag neptune washer, it came off in my hand. Now, I cannot see how to repair it, or start the washer without it. I can place the knob back on and turn the dial to the specific wash cycle, but I cannot pull the knob to start without it coming off in my hand. It is a Maytag neptune front loading washer, purchased in 1999 i believe.

The knob on the maytag neptune washer just turns to the selected washing cycle, and then you push the start button. That is okay.... my mother pulls the knob off in her hand everytime she comes to visit and uses the washer. Love, your daughter.
