Electrolux epic 6500 troubleshooter?

I have an Electrolux Epic 6500 (4 years old). We just replaced the bag and now it keeps giving a "full bag" signal even with the new bag. It will run when we remove the hose, but as soon as we attach it, it stops working.

While I have no ties to the company, I am a professional housecleaner who uses Electrolux exclusively in my business, as they are the only cleaners that hold up after years of heavy usage, and have experience servicing my own machine. While it is an older model canister than yours, the same solutions should apply, as they're all basically the same under the "skin."
Did the motor change pitch when you reinserted the hose? Was any air movement detected through it? (put your hand over the opening)
You may have a clog in the hose. This could also shut down the motor by straining it, causing it to overheat and tripping the internal cutoff. Turn the vacuum off, let it sit for about a half hour (to let it cool off and reset itself) and insert the contact end into the blower opening. You may have to remove the filter cover to access it. Turn on the vacuum and the clog should blow out through the nozzle. You could also insert a plumber's snake into the hose and unclog it that way. Be gentle, though, as the hose has electrical wires running through and around the support spiral sandwiched between the layers of material.
After unclogging the hose, reinsert it into the suction end and turn on the vacuum. It should work.

You all managed to get it fixed that way?

You need to take it in for service. Chances are the dial is not working properly.

My electrolux 7000 is doing the same thing...I have adjusted the dial and it will still not run once the hose is reattached!! Any suggestions? I have owned mine for less than a year!!

I had this same problem and brought it in for service. The guy just dialed the, uh, dial so that a bigger circle was selected. Apparently this dial controls how much resistance the motor will accept before shutting off. When dialed to the lowest position almost no resistence turns off the motor, as you have experienced.
