Vacuum won't power on?

My electrolux intensity vacumm cleaner will not power up.

alternatively cut 6 inches off the cord and throw it away and then fit a new plug. Just see what happens...

check socket outlet works.check fuse.if they are OK then you need to test wiring/switch/motor with a meter
