door of washing machine hoover ca230-003 will not open when pushing release button. note:- new motor just been fitted could this be anyway connected to the problem
check the drive belt has not snapped ,some of hoover machines have a bowden cable that has a flipper that when the drum stops the flipper rests against the belt causing tension so when you push the button the cable tightens and door opens

the door interlock should de activate in about 90 seconds you have either a sticking lock or the cable from pushbutton has become dislodged, try giving it a thump around the lock area it may just release if so replace interlock when open, motor replacement is not revelant.
