Problem with portable dvd player?

my insignia nsp-dvd8 turns on, dvd spins, screen comes on, a few seconds later screen shuts off i can hear dvd still spinning but like i said screen shuts off. I have tried removing battery replacing it, that doesen't work it may have been exposed to miosture what do you think?
