How can I fix my Flamerite 'Stove' lounge 'heater'?

I love the look of it and although its 6 years old it looks like new and has hardly been used. It has power as the remote will light the light bulbs but they flicker and the heater won't turn on. The plug is fine with no loose connections. The remote has a new battery but has a disc on the back marked A right up to Z - I have lost the instuctions but have tried all 26 settins with no luck.
