power to ceiling light where bulbs fit in but no light to bulbs?

there is power to the ceiling fixture but bulbs will not light up

you have a bad connection on the bulb holder,Faulty bulb or you have no neutral return or faulty switch.how have you tested that supply is to the ceiling rose?
