Blown transformer in LED sputnik light?

I seem to have a blown/burned out transformer in one of my led wall light fittings. Have checked and there is no problem with either the bulbs or the power supply - so can only assume that it is the transformer that is at fault. Is this something that can be repaired cheaply/easily? The light was purchased as a pair from Next several years ago so is out of warranty and no longer on sale. Thanks

John is very nearly correct in all respects here...

A Transformer output is AC rather than DC (but no matter)
European standard voltage is now 230V (but no matter)
12V at 2A provides a measly 24 Watts not nearly enough for most applications (small matter)

When selecting a transformer for lights consider
Input Voltage (it will be difficult to get this wrong)
Output voltage (nearly always 12V AC)
WATTAGE - the power the transformer can handle - just add together the wattage of all the lamps the transformer is to drive and select a transformer of at least this Wattage rating - a little more is better.

The transformer will have some markings on it, I think....for example 240v, AC, 12v DC 2A...things like that. So - 240v is volts in, AC is alternating current (which is all UK mains). 12V = 12 volts out, Direct Current, 2Amps...that is the output of the transformer. If you can find these markings it should be simple enough to find a transformer to suit.
