Very late to answer but it is a 47 ohm resistor rated at 11 watts, mine has gone too, price here around £25 total but £5 for 5 from china on ebay

Hi David I think you are right I have just had the same problem. I dismantled mine and found out it as been caused by one of the blue wires breaking off that unit which must be some kind of capacitator. Mine is VPV-230 47R 10% g
Need to find out where I can get one now?
