Mend Switch Change Power

modem switch ?

I want to change how I switch on the modem. Actually I would like to set it so that the modem powers on with the laptop power

You don't say what the modem is which doesn't help, however. If it is a USB powered modem then it will start up with the computer. If it has a separate power lead it
will not, can't be done - end of story.

However if it is not actually a modem but is in fact a router it should be left on 24/7 and not switched off at all.
