S.A.B = your outside sounder, a generic term for Self-actuating Bell or Self-Activating bell or the more modern Siren, not bell - Outside box.
tr = Tamper Return
bho = Bell/battery Hold Off 12v - Pos & Neg

12v is sent from the control panel to the S.A.B to charge the on board battery. (2wires)

An additional Neg voltage is sent in a full alarm condition (3rdwire)

The tr (Tamper Return) (4th wire), is a Negative voltage sent back from the S.A.B. to the control panel and is connected internally to the Anti-tamper circuit 7.

It sounds as though your problem is with the outside sounder.

Panels of today do not have a 'Global tamper' as you have with the Itec, each Circuit / Zone (call it what you will) has its own separate tamper circuit and this will indicate individually. The S.A.B. will also indicate separately.

i got the microswitch on the panel no short to other circuits what is s.a.b? the panel has bho and tr which when linked out with the 470 ohm resistor arms up fine, what is this circuit? tamper for the outside box?
and thanks for the answer

Yes, 7 on this panel is the tamper circuit.

How are you linking it out? If you leave the circuit wires in situ with a link over the top of them, if there is a short circuit between the tamper circuit and one of the alarm circuits you will still get a tamper fault.

Also, Tamper Zone 7 is connected with the S.A.B. Tamper Return and the microswitch of the panel.
The S.A.B. Tamper Return has a 470ohm Resistor connected in series.

So at the very least you must close the control panel lid when you have done your linking out to close the panel microswitch.

S.A.B - your outside sounder

Good luck,

& as this panel is ancient & does not have the facilities of a modern panel I would suggest you bin it and fit a new one when your house refurbishment is completed
