Veritas r8+ (lid tamper)?

Hi, was looking on the forums at posts by fools such as myself with regards to the engineer codes for the veritas r8plus, my situation is, I thought it would be a great idea to see what went on behind the code panel, (without finding the engineers service manual first with which i'd know that the electricity supply should be disconnected first(lets call it a very steep learning curve)as i'm sure you have realised this made the alarm signal, and tamper is flashing all the time, I can't enter any factory default codes, 1234 4321 and my personal code; but it just beeps at me if i hit program.) Is there something I am required to do to reset the tamper light before I can enter the engineers code or is it simply the engineers code has been changed? I have located a fuse to isolate the electric running to the main box, this results in the green power light flashing on both the main box and the control panel. I also note there is a double opening on the base of the remote panel, Is this the terminal isolation point? does it need metal and connection? any assistance will be greatly appreciated, sorry for the life story.

As far as I understand it, there should be a spring or connector which needs resetting and battery power needs to be interrupted to my control panel in order to get in there and reset it. any help gratefully received (cavano (at) gmail.com)
