Mend Scantronic 9751 Alarm System Control Panel Tamper Fault

9751 alarm with tamper fault?

Folks,

I have inheritted an alarm system with the purchase of a new house. It's a Watson Alarm system but it's basically a Scantronic 9751 system with 9930 control panel - rebadged.

The 9930 had a broken tamper switch so acquired a replacement.

I have the install and user manual but it seems the defualt engineer code has been changed, I presume by Watsons, so I cannot reset the damn system to use it.

I believe there may be a way to reset the system (shorting pins) but will this just reset the codes or the whole system back to factory defualt and thus require complete re-progarmming from scratch.

I have no paper work to tell me which PIR or door entry/exit sensor is on which Output (but could work this out by process of elimination).

Basically can someone help me out here please.

we all know this panel is very easy to programme its fool proof ,if you know what you are doing ,we shall see mate,hope he gets it sorted,we have tried our best to help,its up to him now

It would be brill :)

If he follows the advice given and reads and understands the book then he will be ok.

Some people can learn to play the piano from reading a book but most haven't got a clue,

the balls in his court gts and I hope he or a friend of his can sort it,but most of all I hope he comes back to say he has been successful and he offers his thanks.

1st stage reset, as gts has said read the book,

you only need to default user and engine code,

If you choose to refresh the nvm then you have to reprog the panel.

as gts has said choose wisely :)

Great panel by the way and whilst you in there you could also treat it to a new backup battery unless the battery is dated and less than 4years old.

one last thing,one set of pins will default the panel to the original factory codes,so you can set your own,the other pins will return the panel to factory settings,(you will need to reprogamme all the zones),choose wisely my friend READ THE BOOK

they should have put the zones on back page but all is not lost,when you put the codes back to factory defaults,1234,user,07890 engineer then put the panel on walk test get someone to walk through the house take note of what zone lights up,mark it down on back page,bobs your uncle,now just put in your new pin number,your sorted :-)follow the engineers instuctions to the letter
