How can I reprogramme the clock on HS-M48V (B) VCR?

I very vaguely remember from my 1970s childhood, a mathematics book which had a table showing that in certain years the days of the week fell on the same dates in other years. This phenomenon repeats very regularly, like every 12 years (maybe more frequently).

Could you look through some old diaries/calendars for a year MATCHING 2008, between 1993-2007? What would happen if you set the VCR's clock to the present DAY/MONTH in this earlier year? Watch out for leap years too!

I'm pretty sure this would work for manual timer setting; whether it would work for Videoplus depends on whether V+ codes INCLUDE year data, in addition to DD/MM!
