Mend Electric Supply Work

How can I fix electric supply to Stoves 700GDO ?

The gas supply to the oven won't work as there is a fault with the electricity supply - ie it has cut out. Do I need a timer clock or PCB to correct the problem?

This may help a bit:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/how-to-diagnose-problems-with-your-oven

Basedon what I can see from the photo and description o fthe PCB on this page, the PCB is intended to make the cooling fan run on for a bit after the oven has been turned off. See this:

https://www.gas-spares.co.uk/Catalogue/Cookers/STOVES-COOKER-SPARES/STOVES-NG-COOKERS/720-Range/720G-RANGE/700GDO-Sta/PCB-FAN-OVER-RUN-45-X2in

Picure is clickable to enlarge. Looks like the board has a mains supply, 3 inputs (from controls or sensors?) and an output for the fan. Nothing that would power the lamp, timer or the rest of the cooker.

Its got to be something pretty fundamental to dump the power to all the individual bits on the cooker.

If you are getting power out of the wal OK, it it getting to the cooker? Has the techie ehecked power is reaching the terminals in the back of the cooker and that all the cables are tight?

I wonder if there is a thermal switch that has tripped. If so, why? Is the cooling fan not running properly or blocked with crud?

The more I think about this, the more certain I am that the answer will be something very stupid or very simple (possibly both). Its frustrating not to be there with a test meter :-)

Best I can do for now. Acp

Sorry - further information:
The electric supply to the cooker has been checked and is ok but none of the cooker parts that use it work eg timer, oven lights.
Is that clearer?
New timer is £81!

Use a different gas engineer! Preferably for somone competent on cooking applicances!

You say "there is a fault with the electricity supply - ie it has cut out"

One would take this to mean there is no electrical supply to the cooker - ie it has cut out. Ordering a spare PCB will have no effect.

Timer: http://www.buyspares.co.uk/cooker-oven/700gdo-444445109/timer-clock/product.pl?pid=1646290&shop=stoves&path=110835&model_ref=985585

(but no longer available)

If there is electricity available to the cooker but the timer is dead, suspect the timer.

I think you need to be much more specific than saying "ie it has cut out"

Thank you.
Question: Gas engineer says he's not sure whether electric runs through PCB first or timer clock so not sure which to purchase. It doesn't give any specifics in the manual so maybe I should just order the PCB and hope it's that!
Don't worry - I have no intention of repairing it myself! :)

No. There's no way to say this gently: you need someone who is competent to understand it and work on it.
