Mend Simpson 550 Washer Starts Switch

Why does my agitator start up straight away when washer powered up?

My Simpson 550 agitator starts as soon as washer has power switch turned on. Lights flash and alarm beeps. Any ideas out there

What exactly do you mean by the agitator starts (Doing what??) Also, what lights flash & do they have a sequence i.e. 3 flashes pause 3 flashes pause etc
