how to find fault on my hoover six tc650 dryer?

the fault on my hoover six tc650 condenser tumble dyer is when i press start button it doesnt run just makes a funny clicking noise yet if i hold start button in and give the drum a push it will run for as long as i hold start button in soon i i let go of it it stops
