How to get rid of my old connection?

I have just got broadband a few months ago. But before that i had dial-up, the problem is the dial-up connection box keeps coming up, when i go on the internet asking me to connect even though i am on broadband. I cancel the dial-up as default connection, or delete it all to together, which ever way i do it its still asking me to connect. If anyone knows what to do about it please write back to my question.
