Mend Philips SE435 Work Fine Making

Extra handset does not work Philips SE435?

The extra handset is registered fine with the base unit. It is ok for making calls. on incoming calls the handsets both ring but when the extra one is picked up it cuts out to a blank screen and wont take the call then starts searching......
Any ideas anyone? I have reset and reregistered already.
