Mend Brandt Red Alarm Light

Why is the red alarm light on?

I have a Brandt upright freezer, I think it's abot 10 years old unfotunately there is no model number I can see,although the motor is working the red alarm light is on, and does't freeze properly, why ! and how do i fix it ?

Seems like the compressor has gone, after 10 years of use, time to buy a new one, the're cheaper run than the older freezers.
