Mend Simpson Encore 503 Washing Machine Spin Cycle Agitator

Simpson Encore 503 has stopped spinning?

My great reliable Simpson Encore 503 Washing Machine has decided to stop spinning. Instead, the last time I did a load of clothes, the agitator rotated on the spin cycle. (Not very useful, all it does is twist up very wet clothes). Any ideas?

Sounds like the brake has not released. Could be either the brake solonoid is not working or a loose wire or a problem with the circuit board in the panel.
