Mend Optima XM Alarm Tamper Fault

How can I fix my Optima XM burglar alarm?

The control box is showing a tamper fault and the system has gone into lock-down. The key pad will not operate or produce any audible responses. I've turned of the mains power and replaced the battery, the alarm rings briefly then goes into lock down again when I input my code.
