Mend Black and Decker GT100 Flashing Red

I have a GT100 hedge trimmer and its flashing red when turned on normal?

I have a black and decker hedge trimmer that has just been rewired, its flashing red when i turn it on. I never noticed this when i first brought it is this normal ?
