There are 2 LONG screws on top of the base, towards the back. Take those out. There are 2 little screws underneath, on the bottom. I couldn't get those out, but with the 2 top ones out, the base lifts up enough to work with and the belt goes on the left. I guess if the bottom screw would come out, the top would completely come off and it would be easier to get in there.
