Mend Hoover Turned Minutes Working

have a hoover shampooer turned it on and it quit within minutes what happen?

It quit working right after I turned it on

If it just stopped with no signs of distress then a wire has broken inside the cable at the plug end - - from tugging.

Just cut away the plug and a few inches of cable and fit a new plug.
