Mend Bosch Tumble Drier Replace

Accessing Pump-Bosch Tumble Drier?

I need to get to the drain pump to either unclog or replace on a Bosch Condenser Tumble Drier WTL 6003 GB. I have removed the back but cannot see a way of accessing the pump. Can anyone please help me?

Hi there

I have replaced the pump in my 6003gb today. It's not easy! Sequence as follows

Isolate from mains

Remove large oval cover mounted on back, lots of screws around the edge.

Remove 2 screws holding on the inner cover/ heating element housing and take it to the side, it has the wiring to the heating element attached so handle with care

Remove 3 screws in the centre of the back which hold the rear bearing of the drum. Temporarily replace the inner housing onto the back to keep it safe

Remove the plastic fan from the motor spindle and 4 screws holding the back of the machine to the fan housing

Remove all of the screws around the edge of the back and remove it. Detach the wiring from the door. The lower electrical socket has a white pin through it which pulls out, the wiring then unplugs

You can now see the rear of the drum. With your fingertips pull the belt carefully to the rear of the drum and off, it doesn't come away completely so lay it out of the way.

Take hold of the drum and wiggle it through the back of the machine and put to one side.

You can now see the pump!!! It has the drainhose attached, pull it off and detach the wiring. Remove the 4 screws and lift out the pump.

Assembly is the reverse of dismantling. Points to watch :
You have to stretch the belt to get it back over the drum, and make sure that the belt sits in the grooves on the motor spindle and is properly positioned around the drum - you will see the mark around the drum where the belt has been in contact.
When you put the back of the machine on put the 3 screws onto the drum bearing first. You then have to get the screws around the back in place against the tension of the drive belt. Start in the top left corner and go anti-clock until all of the screws are in.

Hope I haven't made it sound too complicated. New pum should be around £60 retail. Good luck!
