replacing timer?

How do I replace the timer on my Creda T601CW tumble drier?
The timer is making a screeching sound.
I don't see how to remove the top cover? Removed two screws at back but front won't release.

you undo the two screws (back top corners at back) then slide top towards the back of the machine. it will unclip with a good tugg
