Mend Pfaff 1222 Sewing Machine Bobbin Thread

How can I mend my Pfaff 1222?

Pfaff 1222 open arm sewing machine has a thread is stuck in bobbin case. A small piece is sticking out near the top but I cannot pull it out or manually turn the wheel. Any ideas to get to pull it out?
