Mend Frister & Rossmann 66 Needle Not Moving

frister & rossmann 66 needle not moving ?

when clutch knob turned, needle moves fine
when I use presser foot bobbin can be threaded, but needle doesn't move..

this machine is second-hand and worked well until now, I noticed that there is no thumb screw in the clutch knob (an adjustment of which was listed as a possible remedy).
also, what size thumb screw do I need and where I might get one
