Mend Singer 513

singer 513 needle not moving?

My Singer 513 needle will not move,the gear operates,but the rubber belt does not run ? excuse my lack of techno-speak but i am a novice,any ideas ?

Hello Christine,
I need some more information, when you press on the foot control does the balance wheel move? can you hear the motor whirring ? nCan you move the balance wheel at all by hand? email me below so I can sort the problem.
