Mend Singer Sewing Machine Noise

SINGER SEWING MACHINE JAMMED?

SINGER SEWING MACHINE JAMMED WHEN YOU PRESS FOOT PEDDLE WHIRRING NOISE OCCURS. NEEDLE FINE BUT ACTUAL MECHANISM NOT MOVING TO PUSH NEEDLE UP AND DOWN! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Hello Betty,
First of all take out the bobbin and bobbin case sand see if you have any thread jammed, that is the most common cause, release the stop motion to make sure the balance turns when you press on the foot control.
