Entry Point for veritas alarm?

hi, I've only just started to use the alarm for a house I bought a year ago. The issue is that when I put it on, come home and open the door the alarm just goes off without giving me time to put the code in. I've checked the manual and it just mentions 'designated entry point' in passing but not how to set it. Thanks
