veritas 8c system on tamper?

I need to re set my veritas 8c system, it is just flashing red at the moment and will not re set, can you help? Thanks.

check the internal battery inside the control panel,turn mains power off before opening it ,you cant check it with a volt meter,if your alarm is over 5 years old,replace the battery
