Mend Power Craft M1R-KZ3-6 Problem Bought Time

Problem with Power Craft Spiral Saw?

I bought a Power Craft Spiral Saw M1R-KZ3-6 500W from ALDI some time back and have never used it as I have another router. When I came to use the "saw" I couldn't lock the shaft to tighten the router bit in the collet.
Has anyone had this problem. The unit is out of warranty. Is Schenker still the "Agent" for PowerCraft Tools from Aldi
