VW Golf Electric Window/Central Locking/Battery Drain?
Hi there,
I have a VW Golf Mk4 (2000) which has an electrical problem which is really beginning to annoy me!
The driver's side electric window packed up and on discovering that the window regulator needed replacing, bought a new one and went through the rigmarole of fitting it. However, I must have done a bad job because now the central locking on the driver's side has stopped working (the other doors can be unlocked with the fob). Even more annoying, is that the battery has a constant drain and if I don't use my car that day, then the next time I go to use the car the battery will be flat.
I've taken the door off on several occasions to make sure none of the wire are disconnected or being crushed. But I have run out of ideas..
I've had the RAC out to check the battery and they say it is fine and a new battery is not needed. So I am figuring that I have done something to cause this. Could all 3 problems be interlinked?
I'm dubious of taking it to a car electricians for them to charge me a small fortune for something which could be relatively simple. Has this happened to anyone else?
I'll buy you a beer if you can help!
Thanks :)
