Peugeot partner escapade 2003?

Just contacted the dealership in Chichester West Sussex where I bought my car on off chance 8yrs on they may have radio code on record. No but want £24 to get the code.
Is this a fair common price now for radio codes/re-code. Problem got to change the battery. The radio is orginal, supplied with vehicle not a replacement.
I see many asking for codes any chance for this one?.
