what fluid comes out when you change a drive shaft?

hi any help would be great i fitted a off side drive shaft as the old one was wineing on but put the new one on and its still wineing on at speeds of 50plus im thinking its dry and when its getting hot its making the noise. as fluid came out when i took the old shaft out its a 51 reg vauxhall movano 3500

if it has a support bearing on the o/s shaft I would check that out and also your wheel bearing,both sides,it can sometimes be tricky to determine what side is causing the problem,it sounds like you lost a bit of g/box oil,I would check the level on that also
