kenmore model 116.38812890 repair lower plate assembly?

I need a manual to this vacuum cleaner. I'm attempting to change out this part. I've almost gotten everything off of the damaged one, but find myself now stuck at the shaft pedal. Help! I am a chick, so I need lots of help!!
