g.e. hotpoint electric frontload?

my tumble dryer has started making a grinding noise when in cycle- i took the plastic cover of at the back and found the arm centering the drum seems to be lower than the fixed position it should be in and there were some dust shavings as if metal against metal making the noise any help appreciated
