Water does not fill the machine as it should only during the main wash cicl?

How do you know it does not fill properly?
I would guess that you have taken it apart. i.e 3 way valve, check valve for blockage, if some water is going in, valve control ok, level sensing, is next, not sure on yours, most level sensing is via a pressure switch, pipe to it can gat blocked up, give wrong reading, look for a 3" dia unit about 1.5-2" thick usually two different colours top and bottom, 2 wires plus pipe. Check pipe. You could allways fit new pipes to the outlets of the valve, going to the sink, check the programs, how much water comes out. If same, valve ok
