I had a drive that was stuck seeking or hunting. It definitively did NOT sound, even remotely, like a beep. It was much more like whinings and buzzings.

I had a hard drive which made a noise when it was turned on.


Seems the power switch wasn't working properly and the head servo was 'hunting'.

The sound was exactly like a beeping, Electro!!

How can a hard drive beeps when NO hard drive have ANY sound capability?

Are you sure it's the hard drive and not another component of your computer?
The hard drive is INSIDE the computer case and some peoples think that the computer is the hard drive, other think it's the modem or some other component... Some peoples also think that the monitor is the computer, but that only true for the iMacs.
