is the battery dead?

if there was no antifreeze in the cooloing ststem it will most certainly do that and can even crack the barrel or crankcase or head in half.if they ahve it in bits gt them to leave the thermostat out they cause endless problems on these bikes and end up ruining them,it may just take a minute longer to warm up when its cold but it will save you £ in the summer when it stops opening up.trust me seen it many time before.

its a 50cc x-race, i bought from the shop and it was left for a month in my shed cold as it was a christmas surprise present, when i went to look at the bike at the shop it was fine, and the other day i started it and i put it in gear to go and all the liquid coolant burst out????? so its now in a shop. could this meen that its been cold and the pipes have expanded when i have been starting it ??

as bb says it wont be the battery as the ignition is run off the stator and not off the battery it would start with no battery at all.it is either a fuelling problem or the primary igntion coild is breaking donw.check to see if it sparks just after it has cut out by taking the spark plug out and putting the lead back on it and earthing it against the head and then turning the engine over.is it a 50cc 2 stroke or a 4 stroke 125 model?

i started it again today though and it didnt cut out until i put it in gear and then once it went in gear it cut out and then all the oil pissed out ??

its not your battery.
Take out plug and what colour is end? If all covered in oil then could be rings rebore etc.
