where is the location of the reverse light switch vw passat 1998 1.9 tdi?

i would like to know the location of the reverse light switch on a volkswagen passat.it is a 1998 model with a 1.9 tdi engine. the part number for the switch that i have to fit is 01e941521.is the switch hidden under a cover?

it on top of the box feel by hand .held in by a finger and a 13mm bolt .remove bolt prise up swich with a flat screwdriver.remove clip from plug .when looking up at gearbox plug on left switch on right over drive. everyting to be felt by hand.
