offside rear door will not unlock by fob or manually?

vw passat 1999 S reg 1.9 TDI saloon.
How do I open it?
All other doors are O.K.

Volkswagen Volkswagen Passat Vehicles, Cars Unlock Fob Manually

You could try banging on the door by the lock while someone operates the key fob but if this does not work the only way in is to cut through the door card so that the faulty lock can be replaced.

It is best to replace the lock at the first sign of trouble as a new door card is expensive.
