Mend Phillips Tv Years Remote

My Phillips TV says 'Locked' when I try to turn it on...how do I unlock it?

It's a good few years old, and I don't have the remote for it...So I suppose i will have to buy a universal remote for it? With a universal remote, will I be able to unlock it somehow?...
