Mend Phillips TV Remote Freeview

How can I fix my Phillips TV?

I switch on the power, select a channel on the remote,switch on the free to view, and as soon as it tunes in the selected programme the tv switches back to standby, The same thing happens if I just select BBc1 or ITV
