Mend Qualcast 43S Spark Flywheel Coil

how do i restore the spark qualcast 43s mower?

How do i restore the spark on my lawn mower.I have had the flywheel off, but there is only a single coil witha high tension lead the plug. Ignition points are not fitted, and there no provision for any. only a magnetized flywheel seems to complete things The magnetism does not seem as powerful as that in my 1965 coil ignition motor cycle, and sugestion would be appreciated

Unfortunately, 'pleasent' is correct. For £100, you could EASILY fit a new (better) engine - with parts that ARE available.

It IS possible to test an ignition module - with the correct test equipment. Unfortunately, most repair shops don't - they simply replace.

To pleasant, this has two steel laminate pick ups, with a centrally placed coil encased in plastic. is there any way of testing this before I go to the expense of a new one..Thanks for any information

The ignition module has failed (a common fault) it's the black plastic box that the ingition lead goes into under the flywheel. There are two types- one with two lamination pickups and one with three. They are discontinued from Atco/Qualcast but were made by Wipac and can be sourced easily on the net. Cost around £100 new.
