Mend Hoover Dryer Noise

how do i fix my Hoover Apollo 5kg dryer?

one day the dryer was working - making a loud noise but still going properly and the next day when i turned it on it just wouldnt go. the timer goes round but the dryer wont start. could this be the belt? please help.
